‘Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation;
for you I wait all the day long’ (Psalm 25:5 English Standard Version).

Reflection

There are times when we become totally consumed with our day-to-day activities. We have a set routine and if anything changes we feel like our whole world may collapse. We become so focused on these activities that we forget about God. In every decision we make, we must consider what God is telling or teaching us.

God is always there – whether in times of trouble or gladness. When we have heavy burdens, God will give direct and strengthen us if we reach out to him. When we are joyful, God will rejoice with us and direct our next steps. We must follow the example given to us in Psalm 25:5 and daily ask God to lead us in truth and wait for his reply, no matter how long it may take for that to come. This may require patience on our part, but there is a Spanish proverb that says, ‘Dios tarda pero no olvida’, meaning ‘God delays but does not forget’. God will guide you if you allow him to work at his pace.

‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths’
                                                                                                         (Proverbs 3:5, 6 ESV).

Lord, in you I trust. ‘Who is the man who fears the Lord? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
