The story so far

Last week we looked at Saul’s encounter with Jesus and how he was changed in an amazing way, and then how Saul’s name was changed to Paul. So as we read through more of Acts we will hear lots about Paul and others that went travelling to many places to share the good news about Jesus with everyone.

After his transformation Saul/Paul spent time preaching and teaching about Jesus and learning from others, but felt that the Holy Spirit was leading him to go and share all the great stuff about Jesus with people in different countries. Let’s look at the beginning of these journeys.

What do I read

Acts 13:1-5

What do I think say or create

Barnabas and Saul were sent by the Holy Spirit to do the work they were created to do. What would it be like to go to other cities and towns that you have never been to, to tell others about Jesus? Other questions might include what would Barnabas and Saul have taken with them, how they would have got to where they were going and how many people went?

  • Perhaps you know some people that have gone to other countries, towns or cities to share the message of Jesus with others. Write down their names or draw a picture of them and pray for them throughout the week.
  • If you don’t know someone by name, choose a country and pray for all the people who are sharing the message of Jesus there.
