Impact of Covid-19 on Life on land

COVID-19 & Justice

Over one billion people rely directly on forests for food, shelter, fuel, and income. Forests also regulate our climate, remove harmful CO2 emissions, and can help slow the rate of climate change. SDG15: Conserving Land Ecosystems aims to protect forests, mountains, wetlands, and dry lands from being robbed of their ability to produce life-giving resources.

The UN reports that human disruption of environments has led to biodiversity loss- contributing to the rise of zoonotic diseases such as COVID-19. As we stand in solidarity with those affected by the pandemic, we must call for the care of environments and protection of vulnerable species.
