17 July 2012

THE first session of The Salvation Army's International College for Soldiers (ICS) will take place from 10-24 September 2012 in London, United Kingdom. Twenty-six young adult Salvationists from all over the world will gather at The Cedars, home to the International College for Officers and Centre for Spiritual Life Development, to undertake a curriculum which is broken down into three themes – Knowledge, Being and Doing. The two-week event is the fulfilment of a recommendation which was originally made through the International Spiritual Life Commission.

Delegates to the ICS will have the opportunity to increase their biblical, theological and historical knowledge. They will learn about personal holiness – through small group Bible studies, personal reflection time and morning devotions – and put into practice spiritual disciplines and new methods of prayer. Delegates will also implement their knowledge of social holiness, with ministry at Salvation Army social services centres and on the streets of London.

More information can be found on the Centre for Spiritual Life Development website, including testimonies from delegates who will be attending the first session of the ICS. Go to sar.my/ics or visit the ICS Facebook page: www.facebook.com/salvationarmyICS
