SPIRITUAL COUNSELLING FOR WIDOWS, INDIA CENTRAL TERRITORY

// 05 SEPTEMBER 2017 //
International Widows Day is a United Nations ratified day of deed to concentrate on the “poverty and injustice faced by millions of widows and their dependents in many countries”. The day takes place annually on 23rd June. In that connection we also have to give awareness to our soldiers and believers in regard to the situation of the widows and their children in the territory.

By the amazing grace of God, the first time territorial level spiritual counselling for widows was conducted on Friday 23rd June 2017 at Tissot Training Centre, Nidubrolu by the Women's Ministry of India Central Territory. Around 255 widows had attended this unique programme.

The aim of the programme was to bring out the widows from their misery and shadows, to increase their self-confidence in their life, to help them to mingle with community without panic, to give spiritual counsels and motivate them to be closer to God.

The delegates were given warm welcome followed by concern talk by the TPWM.  After lunch, the delegates were asked to share their present situation and after the death of their husband, how God guided them, their family and the children? 27 women came forward to share their sad and bitter experience with sorrow and tears.
After carefully listening their experiences, TPWM gave them spiritual counselling through the Word of God from Luke 1:36-39 with special emphasize on Anna's life. Even though Anna was widow she stayed in the temple, depend upon God with faith and prayer. She was praising God in all the circumstances. Then only she had been able to see Jesus with her holy eyes. Colonel encouraged them to be nearer to God by faithful prayer because He is the good comforter. She asked them to be an example for others and to walk with Jesus courageously in all the circumstances as Anna. All women renewed their spirit and rededicated themselves.

Finally, saree (women dress) and blankets were distributed to all delegates. The programme was concluded by prayer and benediction.
