India Northern Territory arranged Territorial Council for Senior Officers from 10th to 12th April 2019 at The Salvation Army Boarding School (Girls' Hostel) Batala Punjab.
The council was led by Colonels Daniel Raju & Baby Sarojini Dasari, Territorial Commander & TPWM and supported by Lieutenant Colonels J Daniel J Raj & Rajam Daniel, Chief Secretary & TSWM. The Theme for the council was “Dream Big”.
Territorial leaders inaugurated the council and session was started with Keynote address of the Territorial Commander in which he encouraged the Officers with the example of Joseph the son of Jacob Genesis 39:2; 40:15 and Chapter 45 about God's plan for us. Also, he shared his big dream for the future. Specially he challenged the senior Officers to be more active in their services and more responsible in youth and children ministries, also in sports ministry. He shared his concern for Moral and Social issues and to form a territorial help desk for Moral and Social issues.
Subject Administration & Governance was shared by Chief Secretary in which he mentioned about Moses’ father-in-law Jethro’s advice to delegate the responsibility to the people, so things will be easy to carry on. Group Discussion and Panel Discussion was impressive and helpful to understand the things.
TPWM brought the topic Gender Equity and Women Harassment topic was taken by TSWM. Other subjects like Future Financing, Officer Development, Officer's Discipline, were handled by cabinet secretaries while Exemplary Leadership, Anti-Human Trafficking and Hospital Ministry were assigned to officers who are involved in the relevant ministry.
All Divisional Commanders, THQ Head of the Departments, Extension Officers and Head of the Institutions shared their reports. Many valuable suggesations came out which would be helpful for the future ministry. Additionally, the hour of the Bible study gave addible knowledge to the officers. The Salvation Army Song Book - Punjabi language was released and dedicated by the Territorial Commander.
Colonel Rajam Daniel led the final meeting and challenging message from the book of Hebrews 3:1-5 about Faithfull Steward was delivered by the Territorial Commander.
During this council, a separate meeting for all the women Officers was conducted on 11th and 12th afternoon and after the council on 13th full day gathering for senior women officers was organised by TPWM. This was an extra encouragement for women Officers. At the same time, the Territorial Commander had called Officers who are involved in education-school ministry for special meeting and provided guidance. Also, Officers shared their experiences and challenges in this meeting. All programmes were helpful and useful for the development of the Army work.
