On Tuesday, 2 January, the New Year 2024 was greeted at ISE HQ, Tirunelveli, by the Senior Leaders Council's fellowship, which included 56 senior leadership officers from across the territory. They convened to reflect on the mission's endeavors and accomplishments in 2023 and to consider the path forward for 2024, with non-executives also in attendance.
The "Building Future Together" themed council, a four-day event for senior leaders, was organized by the territory's leadership, Commissioners John Kumar and Mani Kumari Dasari, TC & TPWM. It was initiated by Lieut-Colonels Lalbulliana Tlau and Lalnunhlui Khawlhring, CS & TSWM, with officer support, and took place from 2 to 5 January 2024 at the Salvation Army Red-shield Beach Resort, Kovalam, Trivandrum.
The venue choice, beyond the territory's borders, aimed to create a sweeping spiritual impact while also providing a relaxed and entertaining environment. Colonel John William, TC, ISW, extended support through his team from ISWT headquarters.
On the evening of 2 January, the council's opening was marked by Commissioner Mani Kumari, TPWM, lighting the lamp, assisted by Lieut-Colonel Lalnunhlui Khawlhring, TSWM, and other female leaders. Commissioner John Kumar Dasari, TC, gave a keynote address overviewing the territory's 'Strategic Plan', 'Mission of Local Officers', 'Pastoral Care', and 'Corps Council, among others. He reminded attendees of the previous council's contributions and previewed the current council's agenda.
Day two, Wednesday, 3 January, started with a Bible Study led by Territorial Commander, Commissioner John Kumar Dasari, who discussed the success of Nehemiah, the Biblical Divisional Commander, from the Book of Nehemiah. The study concluded with reflective questions such as who is to build.
