PROGRAMME TO PROGRAMME VISIT FOR DDWMS TO INDIA EASTERN TERRITORY

It was a great  privilege for 12 Divisional Directors  for Women Ministries (DDWM) delegates from  six Indian Territories  gathered together to attend the Programme to programme visit during 11th  to 16th  November 2016  which was organised and conducted by  Major C. Lalhriatpuii,  Secretary for  Women Advisory Council of India (WACI) hosted by India Eastern Territory. The main purpose of this programme is to equip and enhance the ability and skills of Women Officers through the exposure visit in order that they may be more effective and helpful for others to carry out the mission of the Army in India. The 12 DDWMs felt the ultimate dedication and mercy fuelled with the love of God, in its great extend during this study programme.

Zigzag roads, that decorates the steep greenish mountains in a misty surroundings of Mizoram intensely depicts not only the enchanting beauty but the unique hard labour and increased enthusiasm and intention to develop the fellow beings, who are isolated, depressed and lost among the hardships of the world.

Commissioner Lalngaihawmi, Territorial Commander Inaugurated the Programme with devotion and encouraging and heart touching message. Subsequent days are also contributed enormous lessons of care, mercy, love and compassion to the unfortunate brothers, sisters and children, aged and homeless. Lieut-Colonel Mariamma Davidson expressed a sweet word of welcome and each and every one of us had also been blessed with a lovely gift by the Territorial leadership of IET.

We visited all the Departments and Women Secretaries Officers who gave us introduction and explained about their Department and responsibilities. Besides, TC and TSWM spared their valuable time to sit with us which was very much encouraging.

Tailoring Centre, Vulnerable Project and Industrial Centre: Those women who lost their hope and dream for a financially sound future, is properly trained and nurtured to achieve the effective ways for daily life through 8 tailoring centres in the Territory, run by the Women's ministries, reached its goal. 65 girls or women were trained every year.

Charity Shop:  Second- hand clothes, utensils, furniture, etc collected are provided to the needy through the charity centres and the income from the charity shop is utilised to help the poor and needy.

Motherless baby homes:  It provides extraordinary care for the unfortunate babies under the age of 4. To mark the service of the home, there are songs composed and sung, the home receives grant from government.

Adult Rehabilitation centres: Chhiahtlang, 4 hours journey off to Aizawl, is a place for people addicted to drugs and alcohol. It is aimed at preparing addicts to socially and spiritually well being and to make them good participants of community.

Old Aged Home: for aged over 60s, those who are having no proper home and relatives. Home league is funding  this institution  through their helping hand.

Training College: We have a privilege to visit Officer Training College where we can have interaction with the Training Officers and the Cadets.

Boys Home:  had a good time to visit boys home near the Training College. The loving care and the hospitality that they shown us is remarkable.

Street Ministry:  a challenge to the Indian culture, portraits the calibre of Women's Ministry to defy the barriers for the souls in the streets.

Visit to Central South and Central North Divisions: a lunch and dinner hosted by Central North and South Division as we visited their division women's ministry and the newly  renovated Central North DHQ building. Briefing about the divisions work by the leaders of the division were encouraging.

Home League Meeting at Bethlehem Corps:  had a Home League meeting programme at Bethlehem Corps. The order of worship was of its unique style. s

Holiness & Salvation Meetings

The group was divided into two to take part in Sunday worship respectively at Bazar Corps, ITI Corps, and Ebenezer Corps and Zemabawk.  The delegates were warmly welcomed by the corps and were given privilege to share testimonies.

The systematic plan and function of the THQ Women’s ministry functions as the heart to pump power to the field. Commissioner Lalngaihawmi, Territorial Commander, Lieut-Colonel Mariamma Davidson TSWM, Majors Lalhriatpuii, Vanlal nungi, Lalfakzuali, Lieut-Colonel Lalhlimpuii and officers from headquarters women's ministry extended their maximum support to make the events success. Through this Programme to Programme visit we all  delegates were  blessed in learning new things.
