The much awaited moment for the officers training college, Bareilly had finally came when 19 Cadets of Joyful Intercessors were ordained and commissioned on Sunday, 28th May 2017 at Central corps Bareilly. This sacred task was performed by Colonel Wilfred Varughese, Territorial Commander. All cabinets, THQ officers, executive officers, cadets' parents, local officers and soldiers congregated at the central prayer hall to witness this memorable event.
On Sunday, 28th May 2017 Ordination and Commissioning service was held at Central corps, Bareilly. The meeting commenced with the marching entry of official party along with the cadets to the dais followed by the opening prayer by Major Rajkumar Gill, training principal. Cadets with their uniform coupled with sessional ribbon across their uniform looked splendid. The hall was filled with officers (active and retired), cadets, soldiers and children. The meeting consisted of many activities, ordination and commission being the vital ones.
After presenting the training college report, the training principal presented the cadets to the Territorial Commander. Having received the trained cadets, the Territorial Commander delivered a message from a passage of Matthew 28:18-20 which is popularly known as the Great Commission. He emphasized upon the commissioned life which is dedicated with obedience to the Lord for His service. After the message, the Territorial Commander ordained and commissioned the cadets who following the same became lieutenants. The new lieutenants knelt down on knees near the Mercy Seat while Colonel Prema Varughese, TPWM prayed dedicatory for the lieutenants. Finally, the service came to an end with prayer and benediction by Commissioner Samuel Charan (Retired)
In the afternoon of the same day, appointments and thanks giving service was held. With the entry of the official party along with new lieutenants commenced the meeting. Followings were the key activities of the meeting:
Presentation of Silver Star: This was conducted by TPWM with Silver Star Secretary where mothers of the lieutenants were honored with silver star and fathers of lieutenants were honored with a complete Bible for their sacrifice in presenting their children for the service of the Lord in and through the Salvation Army.
Presentation of B. Th. degree Certificates: This was conducted by the Territorial Commander who presented the B. Th. degree certificates to the lieutenants for successfully completing their course in the training college.
Appointments: Territorial Commandergave appointment letters to the new lieutenants appointing them in several places of service across the territory.
Following the above activities, Lieut. Colonel Daniel Raju Mathangi, Chief Secretary challenged the new lieutenants with a very inspiring message telling them to be bold and prepared to face the imminent challenge with the strength of the Lord.
The meeting ended with prayer and benediction by the territorial commander.
The new lieutenants from Joyful Intercessors session walked out from the hall with new joy, new hope and new challenge to serve the Lord. We thank God for the lives of these new lieutenants.
