NATIONAL EMPLOYEES' SEMINAR 2023

// 04 OCTOBER 2023 //

It was a productive and meaningful time for Salvation Army employees from various territories to come together in fellowship and have a productive seminar at the HRD Centre in Chennai from September 12th to 14th, 2023. The aim of the seminar was to empower employees in India with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to effectively serve and engage in the mission and contribute meaningfully to its development. The seminar was led by Colonels S. P. Simon and Annamma Simon, the national office leaders. During the inaugural session, Colonel S. P. Simon welcomed the delegates and advised them to stay positive and true to their calling for mission in The Salvation Army.

Colonel Yaqoob Masih, the Chief Guest and Territorial Commander, delivered the keynote address. He encouraged the participants, stating that they are the backbone of the Salvation Army ministry in India and that they play a vital role in the mission's progress.

The seminar covered several sessions that helped the delegates acquire knowledge related to their work field and enhance their capacities. The sessions included the mission of the Salvation Army, Hospitality and Emotions, Servanthood, Communication, Team spirit, Professional development, and Office 365. These sessions gave the employees an in-depth understanding of how they could best contribute to the mission strengthening of The Salvation Army.

The three days of devotions gave the participants good spiritual nourishment and equipped them with the necessary foundation and calling for their work. Colonel Annamma Simon and Colonel Sumitra Masih supported the delegates with their insightful devotions. The group discussion on how best the employees could contribute to the mission of the Salvation Army brought out several key ideas that would stir the Army for its advancement.

Apart from the national office leaders, the sessions were supported by Captain Aseervadam Cheeli and Mr. Buddha Dev. Overall, the seminar resulted in the employees knowing and adhering to the biblical principles of stewardship in offering their services to the TSA. It helped the employees to understand and familiarize themselves with the mission and ministry of the Salvation Army and equipped them with the necessary skills and knowledge to support its betterment. It made them update their abilities on par with the current trends and technology.

The cultural evening was an opportunity to promote fellowship and the delegates praised and thanked God for their talents. We praise God and thank the national office for their keen interest in supporting the employees through this seminar.
