Lunglei / Southern Division - iet
As per the Annual Event of the territory, 2 August 2015 was observed as League of Mercy Sunday across the territory. In Southern Division every Army centre observed this day with special programs.
The Lunglei Corps Women's Ministries had prior discussion about the day's importance. Visiting people who are in desperate need in their places was proposed. It was also planned to divide the League of Mercy team into 5 groups to visit people in different places in their different needs.
Soon after the Sunday worship according to the plan the team was grouped into 5, each set its journey to meet people in different places. The teams visited Orphanages, Boys and Girls homes, and Hospitals where people are in various emotional, spiritual, and material needs.
KK Orphanage Home, SAIHA Orphanage, Christian Hospital, Serkawn, Civil Hospital, Lunglei, Faith hospital, Hope Hospital, Police station were the places the teams visited. Every team had a good time with the people. In hospitals, and homes, numerous people of old and young were visited, and also police personnel in their station, were visited and lifted up in our prayers. We thank God for the Sunday we spent good time with people in different moods and needs.
We distributed food packs containing eggs, fruits, cakes, and juices, also they were given cash covers containing INR 5000/- each. All were blessed and related their thanks to the Salvation Army's presence.
