GENERAL HUMBLED HIMSELF TO GIVE AN EYE OPENING, CHALLENGING MESSAGE TO INDIA SOUTH WESTERN TERRITORY

In the united holiness meeting where more than 15000 people gathered on Sunday 31st January, General André Cox allowed an eighty year old woman, Mrs. Thankamma, (Cherukole East corps Mavelikara Division) to sit in "General's throne" as the Pandal (temporary Hall) was overflowing with crowd and showed his people the example of what we preach and what we ought to do in loving and serving each other, in a world we face a lot of challenges.

 

The soldiers flowed and gathered from the length and breadth of the territory to worship the Lord and greet the General was an unexpected event. The General ordered the officers to leave their seats for the people and sit with the General in the stage, which also was noticed an unconventional in the history of the General's visit. The people those who were considered as lower in the social hierarchy, society felt the real experience of God's kingdom among them.

With clapping hands in tears they welcomed the decision of General to make heaven on earth. This great moment of pleasure and joy happened during the visit of General Anrdé Cox and Commissioner Silvia Cox, World President of Women's Ministries during their visit in India South Western Territory during 27 to 31st January 2016.

 

Dr. John Syamkutty Order of Founder expressed, "it is great a message of sacrifice in all sense. Great Alexander denied water for his soldiers. Our founder William Booth said- Others. Jesus said - if you want to be the leader, you have to be the servant. Paul said - you to be the imitators of Christ. And this example for the contemporary world will be written in golden letters in the minds of the Salvationists, and history".

 

Commissioner Silvia Cox, World President of Women's ministries challenged the Home Leaguers to go in to the needs of the community and be a witness among them for Jesus Christ. And the General urged the youth to meet the needs through consistent prayers with hope.

 

Commissioners Samuel and Bimla Charan, Territorial Leaders in company with Lieut-Colonel Vanlalfela, Chief Secretary chaired the meetings. Captain David William, Private Secretary to the General shared his testimony and encouraged the youth to come forward for Jesus in HIS ministry.

 
Mr. Palode Ravi, Deputy Speaker of Legislative Assembly of Kerala, Mr. K. Muraleedharan, Memeber of Legislative Asembly, Most Rev. Dr. M. Soosa Pakiam, Archbishop of Latin Catholic, Rt. Rev. Dr. Gabriel Mar Gregorious from Malankara Orthodox Church, Rt. Rev. A. Dharmaraj Rasalam the Bishop of Church of South India, Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Thimotheos Episcopa, Rev. Mathew Skariah-Auxillary Secretary from Bible Society of India were the felicitators of the meetings.

 

General received the salutes of the soldiers, officers, retired officers and youth of the Territory in a procession prolonged for many kilometres, was a great experience for the people. The people arranged banners, flags, traditional music instruments and dress, cultural items to greet the General and World President of Women's ministries.

 

Besides, The General and the commissioner brought their special message to young people and home leaguers respectively in their distinct congress arranged during the days.

 

Also The General visit included his message to Christian media and an exclusive conversation through an interview with the National Editor, Major S. Babu from National Secretariat, Kolkata (published, pg. 15 and 16).
