Youth and Children Department of The Salvation Army India Eastern Territory had organised basic Child Protection Certificate Course for all Child Care Takers across the territory. The same training was organised on 15 & 16 March 2018 at CHAN Conference Hall, Tuikual South. This has been done as per desire and advice by International Headquarters. The resource persons were Ms. Amy Lalrinpuii, Programme Manager, State Child Protection Society, Lieut. Colonel Zothanmawia, Secretary for Programme, Captain K Lalrinpuia, Territorial Youth Secretary and Captain Charles Chalrimawia, Children's Officer.
Child Protection Training on Biblical perspective and the policies that the Salvation Army and the government execute was clearly explained by the resource persons. The training was opened and dedicated by Commissioner Lalzamlova, Territorial Commander and shared his concern and the Army's views on Child Protection. He also mentioned the deep concern that the international Salvation Army has in regards to child protection and their safety and added that we should lead them at the feet of Christ and we need to give them proper care since they are all loved by God. The delegates at the training included Divisional Youth Secretaries and other representatives from all divisions. They are the one who will impart training at the next level at their respective divisions. This way we will be able to cover as many care takers as possible in a short period of time and get them aware and trained.
