Every year The Salvation Army worldwide observes last Sunday of September as the Annual day of prayer for victims of Human Trafficking. Kolkata Central Corps, West Bengal Division observed this day on 24th September 2017. “Stand up for Justice” was the theme for this year based on key reference 1st Kings 21. The prayer hall was decorated with banners and posters. Soldiers, officers and children participated in the meeting and took pledge to pray daily for the victims of human trafficking. This meeting was conducted by Lieut. Colonel Baby Sarojini Dasari, Chaplin & Administrator, India National Secretariat and Major Nirmla Masih, DDWM with the support of Captain Anugrah A. Masih, Corps officer. Major Nirmla delivered the Word of God based on the theme and she mainly emphasized on the story of Joseph that how he was trafficked by his own brothers. Elishiba Sonar, student of Bishop's college also spoke on the “Justice” for human who have been trafficked and are being trafficked.
A special prayer session was led by Lieut. Colonel Baby Sarojini Dasari. The Map of India was arranged in prayer hall and according to states, congregation was divided into groups; one representative from each state prayed for the victims of human trafficking and pierced the flower on their respective states on the map. It was the pledge to pray for their state as well as for India and for the whole World.
Prior to final prayer, Founder's song “O' Boundless Salvation” was sung in eight different languages. The remaining artificial flowers were distributed among the congregation and have been requested to pray for justice of human trafficking victims every day.
