Tanuku Division, India Central Territory
As Jesus has given authority and ordination to His disciples to preach the word of God and make the disciples for His kingdom sake. General André Cox the world leader of the Salvation Army has a vision, to evangelise the gospel, through this whole world mobilising second campaign, which was held in the Tanuku Division with territory support during 24 - 26 February 2017.
Colonels C. Mony and Mallika Mony, Territorial Commander and TPWM has planned this program which was supported by Lieut. Colonel Jashwant Mahida, Chief Secretary, cabinet secretaries and departmental heads as well as all the concerned officers and soldiers. Training principal, staff, and the cadets also were the partakers of this special programme.
Three days program was designed by Major K. Y. Raj Kumar, Divisional Commander to bring out the good news to the various corps and public to be a witness. Firstly, Army flag was hoisted in the division and honoured the vision and mission of Founder William Booth. Territorial Commander focused the General's vision about future army in the officers' and local officers' meeting.
March of Witness was given priority during these days to spread the gospel. On the first day at local officers' meeting, the Territorial Commander sowed the seed of God from II Timothy 2:1-15 saying about the qualifications of the soldiers.
A huge multitude gathered at Tanuku, Kakaraparru Corps, Mallipudi Corps and Amudalapalem Corps for different meetings as per the plan. Meeting places were filled with shouts of joy and Hallelujah.
The Territorial Commander has preached on various subjects such as "Repentance", "Commission of Disciples" and "You are the chosen people". He inculcated these subjects to the congregation with the help of appropriate Bible references. Many cultural programs were presented which was included skit by Lieut. Colonel S. P. Abbulu and Major R. Nageswara Rao. At the Mallipudi Corps Chief Secretary shared about"Zacharias, the publican's Salvation".
Public meeting was held at Thirupathi Puram by evening on final day of the campaign, where the Territorial Commander has spread the word of God highlighting on "Baptism" and challenged spectators for the new spirit at which God is ready to give.
By the support of THQ, 75 sarees (women costume), 75 dhotis (men costume), one tricycle and hundred blankets by DHQ were distributed to the poor and needy.
It was noted that altogether 4850 people attended the three days campaign and 1250 dedicated their lives to God. Especially, two young boys from Amudalapalem and Kakaraparru corps dedicated their lives to God and to the Salvation Army to be the servants in the days to come.
