TWO weeks ago, the Congress Office at International Headquarters was pleased to release the full schedule of the 150th anniversary international congress, Boundless – The Whole World Redeeming. The schedule includes seven general sessions in the main O2 arena as well as concerts, seminars, a film festival and a new Salvation Army musical.
So far, only five-day passes – with tickets to all seven general sessions and added benefits – have been available to purchase. With individual tickets going on sale before February, now is the last chance to be a fully registered delegate and get the Boundless five-day pass, which offers many perks.
Boundless Bag and Lanyard
Fully registered delegates will receive the official congress bag made by Others – Trade for Hope. Others is a social enterprise which aims to use commercial trading activities to create employment opportunities for producers recruited through Salvation Army development projects, community work, or corps (churches). Production of the bags provides seven months’ work for producers linked with The Salvation Army’s Counselling and Development Centre in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Fully registered delegates will also receive the official congress lanyard made by Others in Lahore, Pakistan. Production of the lanyards secures two months’ work for approximately 50 producers from vulnerable populations. By purchasing the five-day pass, delegates will not only receive the bag and lanyard, but also the satisfaction of supporting The Salvation Army’s ministry in south Asia.
Exclusive Memorabilia
The Boundless bag will be filled with various limited edition items, including the official congress programme (designed by the International Headquarters Communications team), the official congress badge pin, and a 150th anniversary pictorial book. Fully registered delegates will also receive a high-quality rain poncho, featuring the Boundless logo and the Salvation Army red shield. This may prove useful in case of rain, which is likely in London even during the summer!
Delegates who have purchased the five-day pass with travelcard will also be pleased to know that a Boundless travelcard holder and a custom-designed map, which highlights Army landmarks in and around London, will also be included.
Subsidised Travelcard
It costs £58.60 for a seven-day travelcard covering unlimited journeys in London (zones one to six) for adults 16 years and above, and £29.30 for children 11 to 15 years old. (Children 10 and under travel free.) But by selecting the five-day pass with travelcard option, delegates will receive a travelcard for just £20. That means savings of almost £40 for adults and £10 for children!
Crèche services
For operational reasons, crèche services for children five years old and younger will only be available to fully registered delegates.
Booking fees
Finally, fully registered delegates will not have to pay a processing and venue fee should they choose to buy tickets for the film festival or the many concerts and other attractions that will make up Boundless 2015. Non-registered delegates will, however, have to pay a nominal per-ticket fee (cost levied by the ticketing company).
