Spotlight on: Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar

Commissioner Robyn Maxwell (zonal leader for SPEA) joined with the women of Singapore for a special event.

A special time together in Singapore

It was a delight for 96 women from the various corps in Singapore to gather for a rich fellowship over high tea organised by Colonel Wendy Walters, Territorial President of Women’s Ministries for Singapore, Malaysia and Myanmar Territory with Thailand. ‘This was the first post-Covid event that we have been able to hold where more than five women could meet together,’ shared Colonel Wendy. ‘It truly was wonderful.’

The tables were beautifully set, and the ladies were served so gracefully with a variety of delicious desserts, tea, and coffee by some of the territory’s men officers. What a special treatment!

Commissioner Robyn Maxwell, zonal leader for South Pacific and East Asia, ministered to the ladies with an outlook on the recent Platinum Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth II, focusing on the extensive preparations it took for the special celebration. Her challenge was based on Paul’s epistle to the Ephesians 6:10-20, to be prepared not just for the parade, but for the ongoing spiritual battles we face each day:

'Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.' (Ephesians 6:10-13)

Commissioner Robyn further explained that the battle is not against who we are but who we are becoming. To close her devotions, Commissioner Robyn issued those gathered with the memorable challenge centering around being prepared, ‘Put on your spiritual clothing, and never leave home armed with only half!’

During the event, the ladies also participated in a time of praise and worship and a life-changing testimony shared by Revathy, a member of Eratchippu Corps. The ladies went home with grateful hearts and a sense of feeling special.
