Promotion to Glory of General Eva Burrows (Rtd) 1929–2015

General Eva Burrows - the 13th General of The Salvation Army - was promoted to Glory peacefully late Friday evening, 20 March 2015.

WORD has reached The Salvation Army's International Headquarters of the promotion to Glory of Retired General Eva Burrows, international leader of The Salvation Army from 1986-1993.

General André Cox writes: 'I join Salvationists around the world giving thanks to God for the life, inspiration and leadership of General Eva Burrows. Her life has influenced the lives of countless individuals and helped to shape The Salvation Army. I salute a true servant of God!'

A full tribute from the Chief of the Staff, Commissioner William Roberts, has been sent to Salvation Army leaders around the world.

A public memorial service is to take place in Melbourne, Australia, on 31 March
