In every disaster or conflict situation we respond to and every development project we support, The Salvation Army’s mission is rooted in restoring dignity, hope and peace. Whether it’s supporting displaced families, rebuilding after disaster, investing in or empowering communities through sustainable development – we believe peace is more than the absence of conflict; it’s the presence of justice, dignity and opportunity.
Through emergency response, long-term development and spiritual care, we walk alongside communities striving for peace in the face of adversity. This may mean supporting families displaced by conflict and violence in the Republic of Congo in their efforts to work towards peaceful solutions, providing trauma-informed care to survivors of the war in Ukraine, working with young people and their families in Nicaragua on violence prevention matters, running election preparedness and peace-building activities in several countries or helping rebuild lives and promoting reconciliation after clashes in Papua New Guinea.
Join us in praying, advocating and working for peace – in every place, for every person.
