Welcome to The Salvation Army Kenya West Territory, a vibrant community committed to serving the people of Western Kenya. Established on March 1, 2008, this initiative was approved by General Shaw Clifton in response to the Salvation Army's significant growth in the country, as highlighted by Commissioner Hezekiel Anzeze and Lieutenant Colonel Kenneth Hodder. Our headquarters in Kakamega serves as a central hub for outreach, evangelism, and community service.

The territory consists of 22 divisions and 2 districts, proudly operating over 500 Salvation Army churches. We are dedicated to our mission by reaching out to individuals through our local churches, called corps. We are committed to enhancing our activities, including church planting, church growth, and evangelism, and we celebrate the many lives transformed by the word of the Lord.

Our scope extends beyond spiritual nourishment; we actively engage in social and educational work, including programs tailored for children with disabilities. Serving a diverse community, we currently have 669 dedicated officers and a large network of corps, outposts, and educational institutions impacting over 120,000 junior soldiers and more than 112,000 senior soldiers.

The territory has been guided by a series of dedicated leaders who have supported our mission and outreach efforts. Our first territorial leaders, Commissioners William and Nancy Roberts, established the foundation for our work in Kakamega. They were succeeded by Commissioners Joash and Florence Malabi, Kenneth and Jolene Hodder, Stephen and Grace Chepkurui, and Commissioner Margaret Siamoya. Currently, we are led by Colonels Geoff and Kalie Webb, who continue to inspire our commitment to service, outreach, and community development.

We invite you to join us on this journey of faith and service as we strive to make a difference in the lives of those we encounter in this thriving region of Kenya. Together, we can spread hope and love to our communities, representing the spirit of The Salvation Army.
