Young People Retreat: Young People of Aizawl Bazar Corps organised one day retreat for YP leaders on 27 August 2018 (Friday) where and training was given on the Role of Sunday school teachers and its theological background, Healthy and Effective Care, Child Psychology and other relevant subjects. Following to this, spiritual retreat for children was conducted from Friday evening till Sunday evening. The children were brought together in a discipleship approach – embracing, educating and encouraging through the Bible. Worship service was conducted at Bazar Corps on Sunday evening during Salvation Meeting with other members in the corps. The children came forward to the Mercy Seat along with their Sunday school teachers praying to live a life that favours God. That was a significant moment to have witnessed the children praying and submitting their lives to God. Captain Charles Chalrimawia, Territorial Children's Officer led this event.
Vacation Bible School: It was conducted on 2 & 3 August, 2018 during the school break at Rust Memorial Hall, the corps premises. A prepared lesson by Captain Charles was used as resource which includes all sorts of lessons from the Bible, Salvation Army Principles and Doctrines and also from the Junior Soldier's Pledge. The lesson was prepared in a participative format where the children have to really learn and understand and be practical by performing the activities as advised in the Vacation Bible Lesson. The positive impression was that the children understand well and are very interactive, responsive and participative through VBS. Fun games and other activities were also involved during the two days with singing and dancing. The children brought their lunch and had great time of eating together and fellowship.
Praise, glory and honour to the Almighty who loves the little children for his guidance and direction during the event. The commitment and efforts put together by the Sunday school teachers for the physical, moral and spiritual well being of their children are also worth mentioning.
