2nd Administrative Training Course was organized by The Salvation Army India National Secretariat from 22nd to 28th July, 2018, at Surrenden, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. There were 18 delegates from six Indian Territories.
Commissioner Alistair Venter, Commissioner Marieke Venter, Lieut. Colonel Geoff Webb, Lieut. Colonel Kalie Webb from International Headquarters London, Mr. Swarna Kumar Advocate and a Soldier of India South Eastern Territory and Lieut. Colonel Daniel Raju Dasari from India National Secretariat, huge experienced resource persons taught them in a wonderful way.
There was separate subject and topic for each resource person, like Spiritual Authority, Servant Leadership- following Jesus' perfect example, Women development and Empowerment, Board and Councils, Difficult conversation, Principles of Exemplary Leadership-maintaining your example, Women in Leadership, Administration-S A Policies and procedures, Leadership Mentoring & Coaching sharing your example, How Leaders delegate effectively, Covenant and calling, Practices of Exemplary Leadership-Showing your example, Leader-Encouraging Children & Youth Ministry, Function Of International Headquarters and Territorial Headquarters, property Issues-Awareness, How Leaders manage Change, Situational Leadership-adapting your example, Remaining strong and faithful: Resilience in Officer ship, Team Leadership –multiplying your example,
How Leaders manage teams, The Salvation Army Leaders-Public and Ecumenical Relation, How Leaders give feed back, Transitions and inductions. The Subject and presentation by the Resource persons helped the Delegates to gain huge knowledge of the Administration and Leadership. Practical Assignments helped a lot to learn team leadership.
The main aim of this training was to prepare Army Officers to be a good Administrator as servant Leader in this Ministry. Also to lead Army for the future with Go Forward motto. Trip to Ooty was a refreshing time for everyone.
In the Closing Session Commissioner Alistair Venter challenged everyone to renew the Covenant with the word of God from John 21:15-17 Do you love me? If you love me Feed my Lambs, Take care of my Sheep, Feed my sheep. So Jesus gave this responsibility to each one of us. Therefore we need to be responsible and take care of God's Creation.
