THE General’s Easter video message for 2017 is now available to watch and share online. The video – adapted from his full Easter message – can be watched and shared on the General’s Facebook page and a high-definition version is also available to watch or download from Vimeo. To help engage with a truly international audience, optional subtitles (closed captions) are available in Czech, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Georgian, German, Hungarian, Italian, Latvian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Sinhala and Spanish.

The message encourages people to turn away from materialism and rely on Jesus. It includes a challenge from the General to remember – and help – people who are suffering, particularly those in east Africa who are facing severe drought. Information about The Salvation Army's response to what the General calls a ‘humanitarian crisis of staggering proportions’ is available at www.salvationarmy.org/ihq/news/inr080417.

In the three days since the Easter video message was first published, it has already been viewed more than 38,000 times and shared by nearly 1,000 people. Salvationists and friends across the world are encouraged to watch the video and share it with friends, family and colleagues.
