THE first event linked to The Salvation Army's World Youth Convention is under way in London, UK. Twenty-six delegates from 20 countries are taking part in 'Time to be Holy 458' at the Centre for Spiritual Life Development in south London. The event's title refers to song 458 in the English-language Song Book of The Salvation Army, 'Take Time to be Holy'.

The two-week international youth holiness institute offers teaching on the biblical foundation of holiness as well as the influence of John Wesley, Catherine Booth, William Booth, Samuel Logan Brengle and others on the Salvationist understanding of holiness. Amongst those making presentations will be General Shaw Clifton, who will give two lectures on practical holiness. Delegates will look at holiness in covenant and in community. They will also participate in daily small-group Bible studies, corporate worship, personal meditation and reflection.

The main convention starts on 15 July in Stockholm, Sweden, when 1,000 delegates will meet together for four days of worship, fellowship and teaching.
