The International Online Symposium on Ageing: Exploring the Opportunities of an Ageing World

Join us for a powerful two-day online event (12 to 13 November, 10 am–1 pm GMT) as we explore the global ageing demographic and the opportunities it presents for ministry, mission and care.

This symposium will be looking at trends in a global ageing demographic, with shifting family structures to immigration impacts, and what this means for The Salvation Army’s integrated mission. We will glimpse a view of The Salvation Army’s current work in older people’s residential care, in corps-based programming and in community-based ministry. This is the start of a conversation about the opportunities an ageing population presents for Salvation Army ministry, mission and pastoral care. Join us for this time of learning and sharing, and help us shape a compassionate and faith-filled response to ageing!

Key topics include:

  • Biblical insights into ageing
  • Trends in an ageing population
  • Integrated mission: engagement of older people in the life of the church and community
  • Pastoral responses to an ageing population
  • Intergenerational perspectives

Featuring keynote speakers:

  • International leaders from around the globe
  • Leading professionals and practitioners in the field of ageing and pastoral care
