Greet and Meet the General at Weekend of Welcomes

Salvationists and friends will have the opportunity to meet The Salvation Army's 20th General at his official welcome meeting on 29 September 2013

SALVATIONISTS and friends will have the opportunity to meet The Salvation Army's 20th General at his official welcome meeting, which will be held at the William Booth College in London, United Kingdom. The welcome to General André Cox and Commissioner Silvia Cox (World President of Women's Ministries) – at 3.30pm on Sunday 29 September – will be followed by a cream tea attended by the international leaders, to which all are invited.

The welcome to the General is not the only significant event taking place at the college on the last weekend of September. The new cadets of the Heralds of Grace Session are also being welcomed, with meetings taking place at 6.30pm on Saturday and 10.30am on Sunday.

Music at the General's welcome will be provided by Bromley Temple Songsters, a Swiss alpenhorn ensemble and East Midlands Youth Band. The youth band will also support the cadets' meetings.

For anyone unable to attend this historic occasion in person, the welcome meeting will be available live on the Internet through the International Headquarters website: sar.my/tv

Further details – including instructions of how to order lunch at the college between the two Sunday meetings – can be found in the attached advert.
