Colonel Earl Robinson is new International Deputy Director for Lausanne

Colonel Earl Robinson has been appointed international deputy director for the North America region

As part of a process of restructuring of the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelisation, Colonel Earl Robinson has been appointed international deputy director for the North America region. The announcement was made by Doug Birdsall, Lausanne International Chair. The appointment will enable the colonel to contribute to the international leadership of the Lausanne Movement, focusing on North America.

Responsibilities will include serving as an advocate for the spirit and vision of Lausanne, seeking opportunities for cooperation between churches and Christian agencies, identifying and building a network between key leaders in the region, representing regional interests in evangelisation to the international and administrative committees, coordinating regional conferences.

Speaking of the appointment General John Larsson said: ‘The Salvation Army has enjoyed a strengthened relationship with the Lausanne Movement in recent decades. Whilst the colonel’s appointment is made in his personal capacity, we are proud that a Salvationist of such standing has been recognized and appointed to Lausanne’s international directorate. His experience within our own movement will enable him to contribute significantly to the unfinished task of world evangelisation to which The Salvation Army remains fully committed.’
