2006 High Council Bulletin 1 (20 January) - The High Council Begins

The Chief of the Staff, Commissioner Israel L. Gaither, convened the meeting of the 2006 High Council on Friday 20 January 2006.

The Chief of the Staff, Commissioner Israel L. Gaither, convened the meeting of the 2006 High Council at Sunbury Court, Sunbury-on-Thames, UK, at 9 am on Friday 20 January 2006.

Having called the meeting to order the Chief led a period of worship. He then presided over the adoption of the procedures related to the opening of the 2006 High Council, including the reading of the roll of High Council members. The International Headquarters Legal and Parliamentary Secretary then confirmed that the council had been legally convened.

The 2006 High Council comprises exactly 100 members. Of the 102 eligible members only Commissioners Keith and Pauline Banks were unable to attend – due to Pauline's poor health.

The election for the offices of president and vice-president took place and the following members were elected to serve:

 

  • Commissioner W. Todd Bassett (USA National Commander) – President

    Commissioner Robin Dunster (Territorial Commander, Philippines) – Vice-President
