Love: Right at the Heart

Why love must be right at the heart of everything that Christians seek to do. By Robert Street.

Love Right at the Heart

The Salvation Army would be nothing without love. The love of God is its major resource. Salvationists the world over receive and share the love of God, and are prompted and energised into action by the supreme example of love, Jesus Christ. Love must always be ‘right at the heart’ – of everything.

Robert Street's Love: Right at the Heart examines how Salvationists have a responsibility to one another, whilst taking their caring ministry to the world. It is an essential aspect of discipleship, and Jesus encouraged his disciples to love one another with the same depth and commitment that he had given them.

The first section centres on his words – ‘Love one another’ – whilst the second looks at specific implications of the second part of his command – ‘As I have loved you’.
