In a message to Pope Benedict XVI, General John Larsson – international leader of The Salvation Army – assured the new pontiff that Salvationists all around the world joined him in praying God's blessing on the Pope's ministry and leadership, asking the Lord that strength, wisdom, grace and peace might be his in abundant measure.
Says the General: ‘May God indeed bless and inspire the new Pope as he faces the awesome task to which he has been called.'
