Sustainability and Impact Measurement and The Salvation Army’s Global Social Enterprise

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Salvation Army ISJC is seeking an intern with a focus on sustainability and measurement processes to be based in an Others producer country (Kenya East Territory). The main purpose of the internship is to build on the work started by the 2020 Intern in the area of sustainability and measurement for the Salvation Army’s Social Enterprise – Others Trade for Hope. This internship will also provide opportunity for learning about the Biblical Foundation for social justice, spiritual formation practices and participation in UN Forums.

Others

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Participate as part of the ISJC team in focused learning about the Biblical foundation for social justice
  2. Be mentored in weekly sessions for spiritual formation practice and reflection
  3. Attend assigned UN Sub-Committee meetings and other UN forums for learning and sharing of Salvation Army experience
  4. Meet regularly with the ISJC and Others for reflection and input on direction for work related area of focus
  5. Manage and coordinate systematic data collection and reporting methodologies with Others Artisan groups and leaders
  6. Participate in relevant internal Others meetings for overall review and strategic direction
  7. Prepare focused content for ISJC and Others social media on outcomes and impact particularly as they relate to identified UN SDG’s
  8. Participate in partnership discussion with QLIK for data management and software development together with Others Global representatives
  9. Prepare reports and updates as needed

Requirements

  • BA in monitoring and evaluation, research methodologies, public policy, public administration, or a similar field.
  • Computer skills in excel, Micro-soft, google docs etc
  • Participatory/facilitation skills
  • Self-motivated
  • Experience and good communication skills for remote work
  • Ability to travel and work with local community organizations as well as organizational leadership
