Helping Hand

Having just returned from a two week tour visiting India Western and India South Western Territories, many impressions are still going through my mind, such as, the people, colours, crowds, enthusiasm, food, heat, and traffic, just to mention a few. India is quickly becoming one of the largest countries numerically – its rapid development being evident everywhere.

This visit gave me the opportunity to wear the sari and to feel a close sense of bond with the women. The joy of the Lord was unmistakably present during all the meetings, as was the fervour of the prayers of so many faithful people to God. Everywhere people were friendly and welcoming.

It was our privilege to meet wonderful people and hear their testimonies to the grace of God in their lives, amidst sometimes, enormous challenges and difficulties.  They spoke of their trust in God and not being disappointed as God answered their prayers. We also met children from the Army’s children’s homes, whose stories also touched our hearts.

I was encouraged as we opened and dedicated a new Prayer Hall in the India Western Territory located on the Training College compound. This new building had been made possible through the territory’s Women’s Ministries Helping Hand efforts and a generous contribution from the USA Eastern Territory. This is another shining example of what women can achieve when they unite their efforts, contributing to something that will be a blessing to others, including the cadets, who will enter this hall of prayer!
