International Auditor

 

A vacancy has arisen within our International Audit Section for an International Auditor.

The International Audit Section is an independent unit within the International Headquarters responsible to assist the leaders of the Salvation Army by giving assurance on systems and controls and providing other related consultancy services. The Section comprises of International Auditors, both officers with wide experience of Salvation Army finance and business - and non-officers.

We are seeking someone with both good general understanding in organisational management as well as experience in internal audit. As the team is covering Salvation Army entities all over the world, the applicant must be willing to travel on international assignments for 15 weeks annually. Each assignment for 2-3 weeks.

The main purpose of the position is to provide an internal audit service to management by evaluating the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the systems, policies and regulations within the organisation

Applicants will be able to work in an organised and focussed way and to deadlines with minimum supervision.

Applicants must:

  • Be a Certified Internal Auditor or have suitably recognised accounting qualifications (ACA/ACCA etc.)
  • Have experience from Internal Audit or similar – preferably for NGO’s/Charities
  • Confident, assertive and articulate with ability to work collaboratively and challenge senior stakeholders
  • Demonstrate the ability to work to deadlines, and show attention to detail and accuracy in own work 
  • Be flexible, open-minded, enthusiastic and enjoy working as part of a team
  • Support and have an understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army

 

Starting Salary:  £44,350 plus travel to work allowance up to £3,100pa

Hours:  35 hours
