THE Chief of the Staff (Commissioner Brian Peddle) has written to all Salvation Army territorial commanders, officers commanding and regional leaders to ensure they are aware of the resources that have been prepared for this year's international Day of Prayer for Victims of Human Trafficking.

The Chief writes: 'Every year the last Sunday in September is set aside as the Day of Prayer for Victims of Human Trafficking and provides an important focal point for prayer to support people caught up in trafficking and those working among the victims.

'We would ask that all corps and centres around the world give attention to Sunday 25 September 2016 as the Day of Prayer for Victims of Human Trafficking. To support this day, materials are available at www.salvationarmy.org/antitrafficking. Posters which display the theme that is being used for this year's day of prayer: ‘Speak Out – give hope!’ as well as sermons, prayers, Sunday school resources and other helpful educational information can be found on this site and are available now. All materials may be downloaded for use in your territories, divisions, corps and social centres.

'I would ask that this information is shared with all divisional and district leaders and that they send it onto corps and centre officers as soon as possible – this special day of prayer is only two months away.

'All four posters are available in English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese, or without text to allow for adaptation into other languages. As many copies as are needed can be downloaded from the website.'
