TYPHOON HAIYAN

Philippines Typhoon AppealTyphoon Haiyan hit The Philippines on Friday 8 November - the biggest storm ever recorded. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost loved ones, been displaced, had homes damaged or livelihoods devastated.

The Salvation Army is responding with temporary accommodation, essential food, water, hygiene and medical supplies. Officers and volunteers are also providing practical, emotional and spiritual support.

We have been working in The Philippines since the 1930s, and operate feeding/nutrition centres, work with street children and offer skills training and micro-credit enterprise in addition to our corps (church) activities.
