Rev J J (Hans) Blom was born in the Netherlands on 24 December 1959. He studied theology at the Theological University of the Reformed Churches in Kampen, The Netherlands and at the Graduate School of the World Council of Churches in Geneva, Switzerland. He served as a minster in local congregations in Edam and Huizen.
Since 2001 he has been an employee at the National Headquarters of The Salvation Army in the Netherlands. The first five years he worked for the Church Department organising raining activities and after that for the Social Work Foundation as a senior policy officer specialising in Christian identity and culture of the organisation.
He still serves in his church as an ordained but unpaid minister. He is Secretary of the European Catherine Programme Committee.
Hans is married to Greta Jacobi and together they are entrusted to be parents of four children.
