"Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you”
2 Thessalonians 5: 18
Returning recently from great Easter celebrations with the Salvationists in Zimbabwe, we are still praising God for what we were able to see and for the fellowship we were able to share! I was very impressed with the women who came to the meetings in large numbers! At the women’s rally, on Easter Saturday, the hall was filled to capacity with more than 12000 women present, all in full uniform and praising The Lord! What a sight and what an experience! Their love for the Lord and for his word was very clear for all to see!
In Zimbabwe we were also able to see some of the social programmes and institutions while we were in the territory. One such institution was Bumhudzo (meaning “A resting place”), which is a home for the aged specifically catering for those people who have no families to look after them.
What a blessing and how very touching it was to hear one of the residents testifying during the meeting. He was so thankful to God because he could enjoy sweet potatoes! He was literally thanking God for sweet potatoes! A seemingly little thing which made a huge difference in his life and something noteworthy of praise to God! It was a timely reminder that God can be praised for the big events and for the small details of our lives! Yes God cares for us, so let us be thankful for all the blessings received both great and small!
