'A dream'

For a long time, Commissioner Thalitha Langa had a dream to hold a Territorial Women’s Ministries rally! In Southern Africa it had not been possible for many reasons, but most particularly because of the significant cost of travel due to the long distances between the eight divisions.

With perseverance she worked on her dream and in 2015, one month after her retirement, the dream became a reality. I was invited to be the guest speaker, and having served in that country for three and a half years, I accepted with joy. What a pleasure it was to be there and again meet with so many friends.

The rally was well organised and had been surrounded by 40 days of prayer, which the Lord answered by blessing us with his presence. Delegations from Mozambique, Malawi and Botswana (Zimbabwe) turned this into a mini Boundless women’s congress.

 

From Wednesday night to Sunday lunchtime it was a delight to be there to witness the joy, fellowship, singing, dancing, testimonies, timbrels and two divisional women’s bands all perform well.  Saturday was a very colourful day with the women dressed in their traditional tribal clothes or in clothes made using Salvation Army material. The sun was shining outside and in our hearts.

Sunday was reserved for the Word of God. The attentiveness and seriousness of the women was evident as they responded in their hearts to God. I came back home blessed and rejoiced to have seen the result of a dream!
