An excellent opportunity has risen for a Community Development Strategist working at the London based International Headquarters - Africa Zonal office. This post requires a person who is innovative and enjoys empowering people and developing their capacity. The person must have the ability to think logically and strategically to help facilitate solutions between individuals and groups.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating a range of activities focusing on building capacity and effectiveness among the personnel that work in community development. They will travel extensively as needed to visit different parts of the continent to oversee various activities related to the programme.
The position will require high levels of flexibility, maturity and ability to work independently and within a team. The applicants should have a proven record of accomplishment in international community development work with an emphasis on capacity building in community development. Exposure on project management in the developing world will be an added advantage.
They should be in sympathy with the aims and objectives of The Salvation Army, and be enthusiastic about enabling sustainable development for some of the most vulnerable communities in Africa.
Starting salary: £34,000 plus travel to work allowance.
Hours: 35 per week
Duration: 3 years Fixed Term

Annual Leave: 25 days annual leave, plus 8 Bank Holidays per annum.
