Salvation Army in The Philippines supports growing number of evacuees

Major Vivian Dorado distributes food to evacuees in Aleosan Community College

THE Salvation Army in The Philippines is now providing emergency relief to almost 2,300 displaced families evacuated from fighting between Government forces and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) on Mindanao Island.

Evacuees are heading to the neighbouring Aleosan and Midsayap districts in ever-increasing numbers and The Salvation Army was one of the organisations that responded to a request for help from the local government in Midsayap.

Salvationists distribute emergency relief supplies
Goods distributed by The Salvation Army include rice, canned food, noodles, sugar, coffee, dried fish, sleeping mats, blankets, bed linen and toys.
