Believers throughout the city of Aizawl, in the state of Mizoram, India, united in "40 Days of Prayer", which they completed on Sunday, April 22, 2012. This was the day after my arrival in Mizoram, to participate in the first Brengle Institute for Soldiers, initiated by the India Eastern Territory, and led by the Territorial Secretary for Spiritual Life Development, Major Vanlalthanga.
The "40 Days of Prayer" began as "30 Days of Prayer" but continued on for an additional ten days due to the enormous enthusiasm and participation in the event by Christians throughout the region. The continuous prayer effort was hosted at The Salvation Army Aizawl Temple Corps throughout the forty days. Corps Officer, Major R D Lalnunthara reported that over 14,000 people participated in prayer, each one coming to the corps hall to seek the face of God.
The final celebration at the culmination of "40 Days of Prayer", Sunday, April 22, took place outdoors, in front of The Salvation Army Aizawl Temple Corps, located in the heart of Aizawl City. Joining in the celebration were the delegates to the Brengle Institute for Soldiers, as well as several hundred Christians, from many area churches. The celebration was marked with music, singing, dancing, praise and worship, as well as words of encouragement from various church leaders and was a remarkable occasion in which to participate. To witness this event and what it represented, was a great privilege for me, as well as a profound introduction to The Salvation Army in the India Eastern Territory. I join my heart in faith, with all those who laboured in prayer throughout the forty days, believing God for another fresh wind of revival to blow through the land, by the Holy Spirit.
Call a public meeting.
Get everyone there.
Consecrate the congregation.
Let them intercede:
"Have mercy, God, on your people!"
"I will pour out my Spirit
on every kind of people:
Your sons will prophesy,
also your daughters.
Your old men will dream,
your young men will see visions.
I'll even pour out my Spirit on the servants,
men and women both."
