Building on Old and New Testament examples, Commissioner Christine MacMillan outlines how prayer is a starting point for dealing with injustice: "The Salvation Army prays with hearts lifted up to God and hands outstretched ready to go to work. Crying day and night is a starting point in carrying the frustrations of injustice to God's heart...The Salvation Army cries out to God; then with a determined purpose gets off its knees and goes to work."
