Global Call Focus Week unites Salvationists in prayer
“And will not God bring about justice to his chosen ones who cry out to him day and night?” Luke 18:7
The second mission priority in The Salvation Army’s international Vision Plan is to unite in prayer and this is what happened from Monday 10th – Sunday 16th June when nearly 100 Salvationists from many different nations signed up online to pray as part of the Centre for Spiritual Life Development’s Global Call to 24-7 Prayer Focus Week.
The aim of the week was to encourage Salvationists around the world to continue or begin 24-7 Prayer in their settings, equip and resource them about prayer and provide them with the opportunity to take part in an international 24-7.
Daily videos featuring testimonies and experiences about 24-7 prayer were available on the CSLD’s website along with resources and specific prayer topics on justice and personal themes.
All this content is still available online and can be used as a continued resource to help Salvationists in their time of prayer - www.salvationarmy.org/csld/sa247online
Since January 2011, Salvationists worldwide have been called to pray non stop as part of the Global Call to 24-7 Prayer – a day and night cry for justice based on the parable of the persistent widow found in Luke 18:1-8. Jesus concludes his teaching with the question, "However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?" May The Salvation Army be a part of the faith that he finds as it seeks to be first and foremost an Army on its knees.
