There are less than 50 days remaining for Boundless…the Whole World Praying to pass through all of The Salvation Army's territories, commands and regions marking a historic 365 days of non stop prayer.
The prayer wave is presently in the African continent with territorial leadership and Secretaries for Spiritual Life Development organizing their respective periods of prayer. In the Congolese territories prayer times took place in Corps, Institutions and at Territorial Headquarters. The Nigeria Territory organized seven days of prayer and fasting at Territorial Headquarters which concluded at the end of each day with corporate prayer.
In the Southern Africa Territory Territorial Headquarters started off the 24/7 with two prayer venues set up in the Assembly Hall (with the Boundless Prayer stations available for use) and in the College prayer room. The rest of the days were assigned to each division and institution with some locations holding a half night of prayer. The Ghana Territory also promoted half nights of prayer and prayer concerts.
A video prayer baton containing content of each location’s prayer time has symbolically marked the passing over of the wave from one place to another.
Prayer during the Congress
During the Congress there will also be opportunities for Salvationists to spend specific moments in prayer. From Thursday 2 - Sunday 5 July each day will start at 8:30 with a 30 minute prayer meeting. The venue is the Boundless Theatre and no special tickets are required to attend so anyone will be able to come to pray for the Congress, the worldwide ministry of The Salvation Army, children and youth work and for revival.
A team of intercessors will also be praying non stop during each session and prayer walking the O2 during the day.
You can tweet your prayers throughout the event using the hashtag #boundlessprayer.
Additionally, the Congress office is looking for officers to create a video recording of themselves praying for the General, the international congress, your corps, the Army around the world, or any other prayer. Information on how to take part can be found here.
