Discussion Questions

  • Do you know anyone who is ‘always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth’ (v 7)?
  • Paul appears to have been referring in the preceding chapters to ‘teachers’ (faith-related) (v 8). Does this surprise you?
  • How important and relevant do you think verses 16 and 17 will be for you and your faith in the coming year?

Going Deeper From 'O Lord, Not More Verse'

He is not King
Till we give him his Kingdom;
He has no throne
Until we give up ours!
Unless we make him room,
The Christ is homeless.
Unless we let him reign,
He has few powers.
He is not truly King
Until we crown him
The Lord of all we have,
Our hopes, our schemes.
And then our ugliness
Is touched with beauty
And loveliness beyond
Our wildest dreams!
