March:
On Thursday 25th March a group of Salvation Army teenagers meet the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, Tessa Jowell. They present hundreds of postcard petitions to urge the Government to re-think parts of the draft Gambling Bill.

Following the national launch, ALOVE is launched in numerous regions and local Salvation Army centres/youth groups.

700 new Salvation Army generals are commissioned at Shocking (a Salvation Army youth event). The unofficial commission was led by Tre Shepphard (lead singer of One Hundred Hours), as part of a challenge for young people to be The Salvation Army for a new generation.

ALOVE launches Youthwork – the partnership’s new course: WEVYWSK (What Every Volunteer Youth Worker Should Know) to train Salvation Army youth workers.

ALOVE runs ‘Human Traffik’ – a major Salvation Army youth event. Held in 2 venues (London and Sheffield), the event raises awareness for the issue of human trafficking.

ALOVE launches ‘40’ a special Lent resource to help people reflect on the life of Christ, pray, take action and also raise awareness for the issue of human trafficking.
