Youth Alpha : A 10 Week Challenge
YOUTH ALPHA – A 10 Week Challenge! ... : return to events page

At the ROOTS ‘Shocking’ event 2004 (April 30 – May 3), ALOVE challenged people to something risky, speak up and step out, by inviting them to take part in, or run a Youth Alpha course for 10 weeks.

Youth Alpha is an opportunity to find out who Jesus is and how Christianity and real life fit together. It’s been but together by people who have been involved in youth work for a long time and has had a massive impact on young people in schools, prison’s and churches all over the world.

Loads of people at Shocking have already signed up. How about you!? If you take the ALOVE essentials seriously, it’s an awesome course that will help you engage with both mission and discipleship.

How To Get Involved:

Check out the Youth Alpha website www.alphacourse.org/youth/default.htm for information about Alpha.
Get hold of the Youth Alpha manual.
Invite your friends!
Commit to being there for the 10 weeks of the course and beyond – the relationship you build through Alpha will need a much longer investment.
Get support from your church, friends and Divisional Youth Officer. Make sure people are praying for you and find wise people who can help you answer difficult questions that come up.
Follow up – make sure you get things in place to support people once the Alpha course is done.
Last, but by no means least: PRAY HARD!

Share Your Stories:

Thanks for doing the ALOVE thing, for believing that you are part of something that has the power to change our world and for being prepared to live it.

Please write in and tell us all your stories about what the next 10 weeks are going to bring!

Send your stories to: ALOVE@salvationarmy.org.uk
