Serendipity is looking for individuals/groups who would like to show off their talents while cognitively stimulating seniors wwho have cognitive disorders like dementia. This is a great opportunity for volunteers who are outgoing and sociable.
We welcome a wide range of activities and entertainment.
- Artists can lead their own craft activities that help build mobility and creativity in clients.
- Musicians, Dancers and Actors, can perform in front of a lively audience that appreciates all varieties of music and talent. Let Serendipity be your playground for practice to prepare you for the “big stage."
- Play games of cards or board games with our clients.
Volunteering at Serendipity is a great opportunity to have fun while doing meaningful community service.

Individuals who are outgoing and love to help people who are full of life are perfect volunteers for our Older Alaskans Program. Help serve hot nutritious meals to a diverse clientele. Volunteers assist seniors during mealtime and help clean the cafeteria afterward. We have 3 meal sites to choose from. (Monday through Friday, 11:10 am to 12:30 pm.)
OAP also needs volunteers to help pack individual meals for Meals on Wheels. Dish and wrap meals to be distributed to clients. (Monday through Thursday, 8 am to 10 am)

McKinnell House is looking for volunteers who can help assist with children activities while parents attend Life Skill Classes. (Thursdays, 6:15 pm - 8:30 pm)

King's Lake Camp is needing volunteers who can help restore camp before the summer. They will need help with clearing/blazing trails.
Great for College Students and Seniors. (School Days, 3:30 pm - 6 pm)
Anchorage Corps is looking for volunteers to work at the front desk during our After School Program to greet parents and answer the phone. They also need volunteers to assist with student activities.

Gratitude Gathering (April): Help with setting up food, greeting and checking-in.
Transformed Treasures Fundraiser (May): We need volunteers to help with moving transformed items prior to the event. We will need volunteers the day of the event to help out with the silent auction and check-in.
HUGSS (August): Volunteer are needed to set-up and distribute school supplies and coats.
Teddy Bear Tea Fundraiser (October): We need volunteers to help with the silent auction and with setting up food.
GIFT (December): Volunteers are needed to set-up and distribute food and gifts.
