There's no better time to get involved in helping others than during the holiday seasbellringeron!

For The Salvation Army, our efforts double to help share the joy of the holiday season with others, who may be facing difficult circumstances, including illness, homelessness, unemployment, hunger, lonliness and isolation.

Please join our efforts and help others during the Season of Giving!

Bell Ringing: The Salvation Army red kettles will be out in force this holiday season throughout Alaska and we're looking for volunteers to help keep the bells ringing. In Anchorage, starting in October, you'll be able to sign up on-line at https://volunteer.usawest.org--or contact your local Salvation Army for specific locations and times.

Angel Tree:  Provide a new toy for a child, up to age 14, this Christmas through The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program. Toy donations are  being collected at Fred Meyer stores (toy barrel), The Mall at Sears and several other locations around town. For additional locations outside Anchorage, please contact your local Salvation Army.

Adopt-A-Family:  Sponsor a family identified to The Salvation Army with special needs this Christmas season. Sponsors receive specific wish lists and are invited to purchase gifts and food for Christmas. In Anchorage, call 375-3583 for more information.

A special thanks to all of the Adopt-A-Family sponsors in Anchorage. Each qualified family was matched with a sponsor and will be provided a warm Thanksgiving meal and their children will have gifts to open on Christmas morning.

Neighborhood GIFT: The Salvation Army partners with Food Bank of Alaska, U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots and the faith community to provide Christmas for families in the Anchorage area. Volunteers are needed December 16 and 17 to help setup and distribute food and toys.
